Last time I passed a kidney stone, I thought “I need to drink less soda.” But like other soda drinkers, I really miss the fizzy-ness of it when I make an attempt to give it up. I have tried so many different types of sparkling waters, but flavored sparkling waters never have enough flavor, and I just do not like the flavor of regular sparkling water. So I decided to try Olipop, which surprisingly, my local H-E-B carries.
I know, it’s still soda. However, I’m not going to drink a lot of them because they’re more expensive than a case of regular soda and with all of the plants I eat, more than one can in a day would be going a little overboard on fiber.
The good news was: I really enjoyed the flavors that I tried! My favorite is the Tropical Punch. I love that you can really taste the passion fruit in that one. Second place is a tie for me with the Classic Grape and Orange Squeeze. I can’t decide which I like better. Obviously I’m a fan of the fruity flavors.
So that’s why I was kind of excited when I saw they would have a limited edition Peaches & Cream flavor for summer. I love peach season! When I saw it was available at my store, I had to pick one up to try it. Along with some fresh peaches. Because it has been HOT here this week. We’re already in triple digits.

Impressions
Smells lightly fruity. That’s a good sign. It’s good. I would rate it about a 7 out of 10. The vanilla flavor is what I taste first, followed by the peach. It doesn’t have that really artificial-peach flavor, but I do wish the peach flavor was stronger. It’s also slightly more acidic than I was expecting, which balances out the sweetness of the vanilla. I probably won’t buy it again, but I will definitely finish the can!
So I’ll be sticking with my usual flavors. But it’s always exciting to shake it up a bit and try something new!
Even if it doesn’t completely break old habits.
